Description

A 10-minute drive from the centre of Madeira's largest town, Funchal, the elegant Villa Quinta Santa Luzia is set amongst a large area of greenery with a farm and vineyard. The house is large enough to accommodate seventeen guests and offers the use of a private pool, terrace, tennis court and much more.

Villa Quinta Santa Luzia is a special place to come together, whether you are celebrating an occasion or just want to share the experience. There is a lot to look forward to, like enjoying your meals in the sunshine on the spacious veranda, or perhaps taking an organised boat trip around the island. Parties with up to forty-five guests can be arranged and catered for, taking place beside the pool or in the billiard house.

The pool terrace offers sun loungers and a barbecue, and a covered dining terrace and children's play area can also be found here. The property enjoys spectacular views over the bay of Funchal, and its charming gardens are also sure to impress.

The interiors are suitably grand and features a library, living room, dining room and a well-equipped kitchen, recently upgraded with high-quality appliances. A grand piano in the hall and a full-size snooker table are among the features you can enjoy during your stay.

There are three Double bedrooms, five Twin bedrooms (can be converted into Double bedrooms upon request) and a single bedroom – all rooms have a private en-suite bathroom except two adjoining rooms which share a bathroom.

All sorts of extras can be arranged, including massage treatments, groceries and excursions around Madeira. You can look forward to a welcome basket with fresh produce from the Quinta, cheese, bread and coffee – this can be upgraded with some extra treats like Madeira wine for a small charge.

Funchal has plenty to see, with its Old Town and cathedral just a short distance away. Tropical and botanical gardens add lots of colour, while the beautiful views are enhanced yet further by a trip on Funchal's cable car, which takes you from the Old Town to Monte Palace.

#### Location
Funchal is Madeira's biggest centre, but is still quite a small town. Positioned on the southern coast, it has a lot of charm and has a relaxed feel, with an array of pretty gardens and the beautiful waterfront giving you lots of reasons to stay outside in the sun.

Chief amongst Funchal's landmarks is its 16th-century cathedral, Se. Take a look inside and upwards to see the magnificent wooden ceiling. You may also want to visit the vibrant farmers' market which takes place in the town, with its array of fresh fruit, vegetables and colourful flowers – you are sure to find something you have never tried before.

The cable car ride which takes you from the Old Town into the hills above is another must. Not only are the views spectacular, but they will take you in the direction of the Monte Palace Tropical Garden and the Botanical Gardens of Madeira, both of which are well worth a visit.

Funchal's attractive waterfront and marina make for a cool hangout, with bars and cafes, a park and lido with an outdoor pool and bathing area. The town also has lots of dining terraces and pavement cafes, located close the Old Town's main shopping areas. Football fans can visit a museum dedicated to Madeira's very own Cristiano Ronaldo, while the Madeira Story Centre – near the lower cable car station – tells the tale of the island itself.
