Guia is a parish (freguesia) in the municipality (concelho) of Albufeira in the district of Faro (Algarve).

The village is located on the national road EN125 north-west of Albufeira. It is known as Capital do Frango (the chicken capital), because of the restaurants specializing in Chicken Piri Piri, spicy chicken from the charcoal grill - a gastronomic heritage from Mozambique. Expanding holiday resorts are spreading on both sides of the road to Albufeira.

Along the coast west of Albufeira the beautiful beaches Praia do Galé, Praia dos Salgados and Praia do Manuel Lourenço are situated against the backdrop of large holiday resorts and hotels. The golf course of Salgados situated on the border of the salt marshes of the bay of Armação is a challenge for players of every level, because water comes into play at each of the 18 holes.

Guia is home to Zoomarine, a theme park with a primary aim; to educate people about the oceans and the wildlife within them. Algarve Shopping, one of the largest shopping centres in the Algarve with a hypermarket, more than a hundred shops, a variety of restaurants and a 9 screen cinema, is a very popular shopping and leisure facility.

Albufeira is where it all happens the streets are alive by day and by night offering tourists a chance to sample Algarve life.

Albufeira is host to the Algarves bull fighting ring where the Mediterranean sport can be watched and it is tradition in the Algarve to keep the bull alive, different from Spanish beliefs.

First and foremost, Albufeira is famed for its beaches, for the countless shades and tones of its rocks and cliffs. This is a place where people live to the rhythm of the great holiday destinations, sunbathing during the day and at sunset flocking to enjoy the restaurants, bars and discos that enliven the night-time hours. Sports are also a good reason to come and stay in Albufeira. Tennis, golf, water sports and much more make the delights of the most demanding sportsmen Albufeira- A long strip of sand with the city surrounding it like an amphitheatre, it is made up of three beaches: Peneco, Pescadores and Inatel.
