Blue Ridge is an exceptional 3-bedroom luxury villa that commands unparalleled views from the hills above Plai Laem and Choeng Mon.
The space
Just ten minutes from Koh Samui International Airport, the north-eastern corner of the island has quickly become the most sought after location for exclusive, private pool villas. And the breathtaking scenery is just part of this villa’s natural attraction.
As you make your way up the short flight of steps to the initial level of the villa you’ll see the first double en-suite bedroom to the left. All the bedrooms are of course en-suite, fully air-conditioned with large bathrooms, wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, comfortable chairs, plenty of storage and clothing space, safety deposit boxes and fabulous views as all four bedrooms are ocean-facing.
Take another few steps up to the next level and the views are even more astounding. Several bays, the nearby island of Koh Pha Ngan and the deep-blue ocean beyond all come into focus. The terrace wraps around the villa and has outdoor seating, sun-loungers with large umbrellas, beanbags, an outdoor pool shower and a barbecue. And taking centre stage is the infinity pool with Jacuzzi. And as the sun arcs from the east (to your right looking at the ocean) in the morning to the west in the evening the pool and terrace and bathed in sunshine all day long.
Indoors, the open-plan living-dining-kitchen room has floor to ceiling glass sliding doors and is filled with natural light throughout the day without having the sun directly streaming in. Plus it is fully air-conditioned and has large ceiling fans should you need to cool down a little. To one side is a fully-fitted modern western-style kitchen with a fridge-freezer, oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and plenty of utensils, cutlery, crockery and glassware. There’s also a bathroom to one side and in the centre there is a dining table that amply seats eight.
On the opposite side of the room is the lounge with a large screen TV on the wall, a JBL sound system, long comfy sofas and a work station should you need to plug in your laptop. It’s positioned with wonderful views of the ocean so you may either be inspired to work or inspired to daydream! Throughout the villa the tiled flooring remains cool to the touch and all around the villa you will see colourful artwork adorning the walls and a wealth of Thai arts and crafts, antiques and ornate candle holders.
An open wooden staircase leads the way to the upper level and the other three en-suite bedrooms. The first of these is a large double, the second bedroom has twin beds and the third is the Master Suite. Again, all are very spacious, well-appointed, modern and luxurious and they are all linked by an outside balcony. It’s the perfect spot to take a seat, read a book or simply take in the elevated vista that stretches out before you.
One image down to the left that will catch your eye is a striking white 18-arm statue of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion, the centre piece of Wat Plai Laem, an important Chinese Buddhist temple on Samui. Guanyin is believed to be a source of unconditional love and a protector of all beings. Her multitude of arms is seen as an illustration of her ability to reach out and provide help across the world. She is also seen as a fertility goddess and many who come here pray for her help in bearing healthy children. It’s a living and active temple, where devotees come daily to pay homage to Guanyin and the Buddha, who is also depicted in a number of statues and murals around the temple and visitors are very much welcome. It’s one of Samui’s most iconic images along with the golden Big Buddha statue located close by.
This spectacular villa has ample off-road parking, CCTV coverage and ‘The Ridge’ collection of villas additionally has nightime security personnel presence for additional peace of mind. There is a multi-lingual manager on-site, a chef and several maids present every day to ensure your villa is kept in pristine condition. Your villa manager can also arrange car hire or taxis when required, recommend trips, tours and places of interest to visit and suggest the best beaches and restaurants in the local vicinity.
