Description

This 100 year traditional Indonesian house has been rebuilt with a luxury interior. The villa is built on 5 are and has a private pool. The villa is located in central Bali, between Sanur, Canggu/Seminyak and Ubud. Take the scooter explore the island or we can arrange a private taxi for you.

Welcome to our Uma Joglo Bali. Aged more than 100 years, our Joglo is inherited from the city of Kudus, an Arabic word that means "Holy". This traditional and original building of Indonesia is built through a journey of time, as each work will be held only on a "good" day. It determines when to cut the woods, when to start carving, or when to assemble it altogether. This certain belief is what made the building possess a spirit, an aura, and an energy.
The building itself carries three main components. Firstly, the main entrance door is called "gebyok", that comes with a risen-level beam at front, that forces guests to look down below before entering the building. This is a cultural symbol of Indonesia, where guests must respect the owner of the house. Second, the four columns in the middle that is called "soko guru" symbolized the four direction of the wind. And, lastly, the "tumpang sari" is the beam arrangement that is supported by the "soko guru". From these three elements, the merrier the decoration and the carving, the higher is the status of its owner.
More of these informations can be found in our manual book.]

The villa is located in the capital of Bali, but one of the lesser touristic areas. Expect to sea the real Bali life in this living center of the island. Explore local restaurants and markets or explore the touristic areas a bit further.
