Agostina is a charmingly refined home set within the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate, overlooking the golf course, offering guests easy access to the iconic “platinum coast” on the west of Barbados. This single storey home epitomises the quintessential ‘home from home’ laid-back, fresh coastal feel. Light-filled, and finished with such natural ease, guests will enjoy generous proportions offering the ideal balance between luxury and cosy, this breezy home is awash with vivid splashes of colour, and leads to a dazzling pool-side terrace framed with sumptuous colourful tropical gardens. The classical colonial, Bajan home filled with characteristic Caribbean ease; sleek hardwood flooring extends to the French windows where a natural interplay occurs between indoor and outdoor living. The elegant covered verandas and porches are majestic, offering a shaded, refined setting for afternoon teas with porcelain tea set at the wicker dining set, or an evening cocktail as the sun softens and cool trade winds blow in, rustling in the palms. Agostina has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, with four of these being in the main house and the fifth within its own self-contained cottage - the latter is ideal for an au pair or grandparents, or a couple wishing for privacy. The master, in the local colonial style, offers a mahogany four poster beds, whilst each of the other rooms is accented with pretty pastels, out paintings, vibrant upholstery and scatter cushions. Set on the fringe of a championship golf course, with access to the owner’s beach facility and tennis courts, within close proximity to fine beaches and amenities. With three staff members on hand, guests will be able to to slip back into the ultimate state of indulgence; a cook, housekeeper and laundry maid mean those staying at Agostina get to truly imbibe the restorative spirit of the west coast. The living spaces at Agostina comprise understated luxury and airy Caribbean informality, whilst the recessed ceilings, large porches with white pillars and polished mahogany all nod to the Plantation style. Agostina is a breath of fresh air, literally, on one of the finest stretches of coast Barbados has to offer, with upbeat pastel tones, floral fabrics and refined home comforts.\r

Agostina is located on the West coast of Barbados, just a short distance to Sandy Lane Beach Club (1.3 km), with easy access to both Holetown (2.1 km) and Speightstown (9.5 km). The upmarket Sandy Lane enclave is nestled in a premium position in the very exclusive West Coast of Barbados, also known as the “platinum coast” for its pristine beaches and turquoise waters. Despite this region being developed with high-end hotels and stately private residences to an international jet-set, its coast remains one of the most beautiful Barbados has to offer. With the recent development of extensive boardwalks, visitors can enjoy spectacular sunset strolls with the glittering sea as their companion. Guests have access to an array of amenities including tennis, spa, golf and clubhouse, whilst in contrast, a visit to the historical Holetown will offer a taste of local flavour. The Chattel village is a bustling centre for artisans, offering local crafts, art and jewellery. The Chattel houses offer a striking contrast to the colonial residences with their dazzling white coral facades and open verandas; the former are vividly coloured with fancy gables and gingerbread fretwork. They date back to plantation days; the small wooden shacks were designed to be movable, yet this didn’t limit their decorative charm; finished in candy pinks and pistachio greens with pretty shutters and sloping roofs. Speightstown is characterful and historic, showcasing an eclectic and interesting mix of architecture - buildings with colonial roots, new developments, vividly coloured street vendors and fishermen unloading their catch on the jetty. Water sports enthusiasts will be in their element, from sailing to snorkelling, jet-skiing to kite-surfing, Barbados has it all. One of the greatest delights of this island is boarding the sparkling waters for a catamaran cruise, along with a decadent buffet meal and drinks. Within close proximity to Sandy Grove, visitors can enjoy the fine culinary art at Tides Restaurant for something a little special, or Zaccios for informal pizza lunches with the kids. The west coast offers everything from rum cocktails at the bar to Thai cuisine or local Bajan fare. A culinary experience here takes influences from African, Caribbean, West Indian and European gastronomy for something a little unique. Known for its rum tradition, started circa 370 years ago, the island is brimming with tours of the world’s oldest rum. Barbados is a place of contrasts, from movie-star hedonism to cane-cutting village life and artisanal fare; from fishing villages to dramatic, rugged Atlantic coastlines - visitors will enjoy a vivacious diversity within a very accessibly-sized island. A unique blend of vibrant, local life and colonial-influenced afternoon teas alongside cricket matches on the green!\r
