Description

Casa do Casal is ideal for two small families wanting to holiday together or an extended family that might like to spend the majority of time together but might like a little independence too. The villa is comprised of two separate apartments, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. They are not interconnected as the top floor apartment is reached via an external staircase. However, they do share the outdoor terrace and swimming pool. Each of the apartments has two bedrooms, so in total, the villa can sleep up to eight guests.

Casa do Casal is located in the countryside, near the town of Almancil, with Loule and Vilamoura a little further. The villa is peaceful and relaxing while being a short drive from a number of amenities.

The ground floor apartment is fairly basic and is comprised of an open-plan living, dining kitchen space with access to the terrace and pool, one twin bedroom, one double bedroom and a shower room. The upper floor apartment is also fairly basic and boasts an open-plan living, dining and kitchen space, a shower room and two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with twin beds. The upper apartment has access to a balcony and also stairs straight down to the pool area. The shower rooms have both been revamped and are modern. The decor and furnishings are generally very traditional rather than contemporary.

Both families share a delightful terrace and 8m x 4m swimming pool as well as alfresco dining and a barbecue area.

Casa do Casal is a great base to explore and enjoy the lovely towns of Vilamoura, Loule, Almancil and the Old Town of Faro, as well as the Vale do Lobo triangle and the fabulous Ria Formosa Nature Park. There are many golf courses, tennis courts, riding stables and watersports available in the area.

#### Location
Casa do Casal is a short drive from the attractive and atmospheric village of Almancil and even closer to the Almancil Karting Track. As well as being famous for its pottery shops, Almancil is also famous for having three Michelin star restaurants. The distances are all very close as Almancil is only a fifteen-minute drive from Faro airport. The neighbouring village of Sao Lourenco boasts a fabulous church decorated with excellent azulejo work dating back to 1730. Very close to the church is the local Centro Cultural, which hosts a range of musical performances and art exhibitions.

Vale do Lobo has been instrumental in helping to establish the Algarve as a golfers paradise. The British golfer Henry Cotton designed the Vale do Lobo course, and there are plenty of others close by. Villamoura's courses are recognised as some of the best on the Algarve. There are also some fantastic stables offering treks which take you through stretches of the classic Algarve countryside and even along some of the beaches.

You can discover a real taste of Portuguese culture in the gorgeous town of Loule. It boasts a beautiful centre, a magnificent market hall, important churches and the ruins of a 13th century castle. The municipal market building stems from 1908 and has oriental architecture. The best time to visit is on a Saturday morning when it is buzzing with fresh fruit and vegetables, fish, herbs, spices and handicrafts on sale. The Castle of Loule now houses the Municipal Museum with many historical artefacts. The 17th century Nossa Senhora da Conceicao chapel is incredibly beautiful with blue glazed tiles covering the walls. Approximately 10km north of Loule is the walking trail of Fonte Benemola. There are actually two trails, and you will find some lovely picnic spots on the way.

Vilamoura is a modern resort with a fantastic beach, elite golfing with five exceptional courses, chic lounge clubs, an exclusive marina complex with million-dollar yachts and fine dining, a casino and much entertainment. Gone is the dilapidated charm of some Portuguese resorts and now it is a striking playground for the super-rich who arrive at the marina in their yachts.
