Nestled between Tuscany and Liguria, Villa Linari is a wonderful villa within a picturesque landscape. There are stunning views of the lush green hills from the private pool and various vantage points around the villa. A large lawn surrounds the pool area. For alfresco dining and relaxing, there is a covered veranda and terraces, or guests can eat around the table in the fully-equipped kitchen.
Indoors, the living space is airy and bright, elegantly decorated in white with exposed heritage-style stone walls. There is a traditional fireplace for cosy winter evenings and plush white sofas to curl up on and watch a movie on the Smart TV. Just beyond this space is the kitchen, which has everything you need to create delicious family feasts with its Smeg oven and an American-style fridge with ice maker.
Across the villa you will find four bedrooms that can sleep up to eight guests. Designed in fresh neutral tones, the bedrooms have classic furnishings and one has a pretty balcony looking out to the stunning views of the Tuscan rolling countryside.
The villa is perfectly placed in a hamlet in the area of Lunigiana. Not too far from charming villages and towns yet tucked away within the lush rolling hills of Tuscany and Liguria, it's perfect for a relaxing break. Nearby, guests can go walking on countryside trails and enjoy scenic bicycle rides.
Lunigiana is just a forty-minute drive to the famous Gulf of Poets, which was the source of inspiration for many writers including Byron and Shelley. There are lovely beaches in this area and lots of fresh seafood. Here you can take a boat trip around the area and soak up the romantic atmosphere or walk the famous route from Lerici to San Terenzo. The spectacular scenery of the world-famous Cinque Terre coastline and villages is also waiting to be explored.
The location of Villa Linari is absolutely gorgeous and close to a whole host of natural experiences. Located in Lunigiana, the villa is surrounded by the Tuscan hills. The area is also a great jumping off point for day trips to famous hotspots around the Tuscan and Ligurian region including Cinque Terre and the Versilian coast.
There is a village with a restaurant and bar around a 10-minute drive away – whilst visiting the local restaurants sample some of the delicious regional cuisine including fresh pesto from Liguria, focaccia bread from Aulla and panigacci from Podenzana.
Just forty minutes from the villa you will find the Gulf of Poets which runs from Portovenere to Lerici. The dazzling blue water and relaxed lifestyle captivated many artists and writers including DH Lawrence and Mary Shelley, who lived in Lerici. The area is known for excellent seafood as well as beautiful beaches where you can try out watersports including windsurfing, sailing and canoeing.
Popular excursions include the Cinque Terre, with its postcard-perfect houses perched atop the cliffside. The five fishing villages are connected by train, which is a great way to reach them with departures from La Spezia. Take in the mesmerising vistas and stroll around the charming villages.
In this area you will also find the Versilia coast, about an hour away, which has famous beaches with dazzling blue water, especially around Arsuan and between Viareggio and Torre del Lago Puccini. This part of the Tuscan coastline has something for everyone from wild remote beaches to sandy blue-flag bays. Many of the beaches have private lidos and require an entrance fee to use the facilities like sunbeds, but there are also free parts of the beaches as well.
