#### Location
Amenities can be found within a 20-minute walk from the villa and include a minimarket, restaurants and shops. If you want a larger selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, you'll need to head further afield to towns such as Carminha.

Carminha is just 6 km away, with its popular sandy beach of Foz do Minho. Being where the Minho River meets the sea, there are plenty of activities to suit the conditions of both stretches of water. The sea here benefits from strong winds coming in off the surrounding hills, so is ideal for windsurfing. If you prefer something a little more sedate, the river offers you the chance to swim or kayak.

The old town centre of Caminha is full of characterful historic buildings, including a clock tower and 16th-century church. Many people also enjoy just sitting in the main square with its large choice of cafes and restaurants. You'll find that it's a place popular with locals as well as tourists, so it's a great opportunity to soak up the local culture and atmosphere.

Around a 30-minute drive south from the villa is another historical town, Viana do Castelo. It's rich with medieval and Renaissance architecture, museums and religious sites of interest. One of the most famous attractions is the mountaintop Santuario de Santa Luzia, which is just north of the town. Take the funicular railway up the hill to experience this beautiful church in all its glory, as well as the spectacular views of the town and surrounding area.
