Description

Nestled atop the highest hill of southern Bali lies Villa Sunut, an elegant and minimalist haven for art lovers and beach hoppers alike. From the rooftop terrace, admire the 360-degree panoramic views of the sweeping turquoise ocean, dotted with faraway islands and picturesque villages. Two dramatic volcanoes guard over Bali, which is known as the 'Island of the Gods.'

Enter the villa through the traditional Balinese doorway, where you'll find a delightful open plan living space with plenty of breakout areas to relax. Sink into one of the sofas or perch by one of the floor to ceiling windows. Art runs through the chic and spacious villa, colourful paintings hang on the walls and rich textiles adorn the cosy beds. One particularly striking piece is the portrait of a lady in the corner of the living room.

Juxtaposing a neutral colour scheme with designer dark wood furnishings and quirky lighting, the bedrooms are super stylish. The huge windows ensure the room is bathed in light and you'll wake up to beautiful hilltop views. There's a fully equipped kitchen for those who love to cook and a lovely dining area where the whole family can enjoy eating together. A great entertainment system with high-quality speakers is available to watch a movie afterwards.

Outside, you'll find a lovely pond filled with sacred 'koi' fish. Step out and enjoy swimming in the private 10m pool, shaded by plants - the perfect way to feel refreshed after exploring the island. Foliage is a strong feature all around the villa, helping to bring some of the harmony of the outdoors in.

On the terrace, enjoy a fresh fruit platter as you watch a stunning sundowner over the luscious rolling green countryside. Decked out in bright blue surrounded by lots of exotic flowers, you can while away hours in this day bed and shade yourself with the curtains. You really might find it difficult to tear yourself away from this villa!

Don't miss out on experiencing a quintessentially Balinese rose petal bath, and you can indulge in a massage in the privacy of the villa on request. A team of friendly and professional staff are there to make sure you have a fabulous time, including a personal butler and villa attendant, chauffeur and 24-hour security.

#### Location
Situated in Bukit, one of the most fashionable and naturally beautiful areas of Bali, the villa is ideally located near plenty of amenities. One of the most famous landmarks - the atmospheric 11th century Pura Lukur Uluwatu temple is essentially on the villa's doorstep. A photographer's dream, the sea temple is perched on craggy limestone cliffs and hosts Kecak fire dance shows that tell the story of Ramayana through dance and chanting.

The dancers wear beautiful costumes, and visitors wear a sash on the hip to show respect in the temple. Being part of the ceremonies is a really special way to get acquainted with the spirituality of Balinese culture.
Enchanting Jimbaran Bay is the closest beach to the villa, with its soft golden sand and crystalline water that you can swim into your heart's content. A canopy of coconut groves surrounds the beach, and the coral reef makes it incredibly popular with surfers and snorkellers.
The area is also famous for its local seafood market - get up early to buy some of the day's fresh lobster, squid and matu matu. You can get this barbecued here or take it back to the villa to create your own seafood feast. It's a great way to meet some locals.

Other beaches nearby include Padang Padang beach, famous around the world for its superb surf breaks (and for being part of the setting for the film Eat Pray Love) but there's plenty of room for those who prefer swimming and snorkelling. Suluban beach is just a short ride away, which. Framed by limestone bluffs and with impossibly turquoise water, it's considered one of the prettiest beaches in Bali.

The Bukit area is perfect for art lovers, as you can visit the Jenggala Gallery and see local craftspeople at work making ceramics, buy some pots as souvenirs and even take a pottery class. Anyone interested in Asian or Indonesian art should also check out the Museum Pasifika. You can also try your hand at making your own perfume at the L'Atelier Parfums et Creations. Professional parfumiers will help you create your signature scent and make a bottle home with you.

Thrill-seekers can try their hand at paragliding, as the southerly winds from May to October are perfect. You'll go in tandem with an instructor and get an unparalleled view of Bukit from above.
