NOTE #1: We are requiring a minimum 14-day stay this summer.

NOTE #2: Satellite broadband is restrictive in the valley and may be much slower than you are used to. Checking emails and surfing the web is fine, however it is NOT SUITABLE FOR REMOTE WORKING or if you expect to need a lot of data-intensive activities (you will not be able to stream movies, stream music, make Zoom calls, etc.) There is a very limited data allowance included, after which guests will need to pay for additional top-up internet data tokens. As we live nearby, we can arrange that for you through our provider Digiweb at an extra cost.

Welcome, Bienvenue, Willkommen, Benvenuto, Bienvenido, Fáillte, Our cottage is just 1 mile inland from the Wild Atlantic Way, nestled between the Kyber pass to the west, and Slieve Elva to the east surrounded by the Burren hills of the Caher Valley. This unique karst landscape with its alpine flora is a haven for botanists and geologists. The fauna, including foxes, badgers, pine martins and wild goats roam freely over the hills and can be spotted using the binoculars that we provide for our guests. The Caher River is only a short stroll from the cottage offering a tranquil atmosphere for our guests and the Caher Valley Nature Reserve is located nearby. The cottage is perfectly situated as a starting point to many of the walking trails with spectacular views of Galway Bay. We provide maps and brochures featuring these trails.

The cottage is wheelchair accessible throughout so it's ideal for seniors. The master bedroom has a large ensuite bathroom and walk in closet. The main bathroom has a full/power shower and bathtub. Pitch pine floors throughout. Solar panels for heated water.

There is a Moher flag patio with Liscannor stone dining set outside for al fresco dining. Wraparound driveway surrounding the cottage for easy access.

It's just over an hour drive to Galway city taking the coast road with breathtaking views including the seaside villages of Ballyvaughan, Bellharbour and Kinvara with Dunguaire Castle.

The Aran islands are visible from the golden sand beach of Fanore where the local surf school will provide you with surf boards and wetsuits. (We provide two adult wetsuits in the cottage as well as an inflatable beach chair.) Doolin cave and Ailwee cave are located nearby.

There is a 32' flatscreen TV in the family room with satellite coverage including BBC (but not RTE stations).

Phone - Please be aware there is NO LANDLINE, and NO MOBILE PHONE access in the cottage. To get a signal, you will need to go 1/2 mile toward the coast road to pick up a reliable signal.

WIFI connection. Due to our location in a valley, SATELLITE BROADBAND IS RESTRICTIVE in its capabilities and it is not possible to offer unlimited usage for working remotely. We would also recommend that you are cautious with your Also the broadband in the cottage is NOT suitable for anything that has video content such as Netflix, TV streaming, Social Media Videos or gaming especially.

Rental is NOT advised for anyone for whom fast or reliable internet access is mandatory.

Satellite television & DVD, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, electric shower, oil -fired central heating are all available in the cottage.

There is a large library of books and music available for guests use, including books on the Burren and walking routes in the area. There is a wood burning stove and a fire starting kit provided in the sitting room.

All household linens are provided along with white fluffy towels for each guest.

NOTE - the cottage has a MINIMUM STAY of 13 nights and checkin and checkout must be on a Saturday.

Just a hacker? Head to Doolin for a terrific par-3 course right out on a peninsula overlooking Cliffs of Moher. Great value for only 5 euro a person!

There's a great horse riding stables about 10-15 minutes away in Lisdoonvarna with great service from the owner, Peter Williams and his family.

Mick at the small local shop in Fanore will provide you with fishing tackle and bait in addition to all your daily shopping needs.
