If on your travels you like to get to know the historical-ethnographic heritage, the villages of Vilarinho dos Freires and Poiares may be of interest to you. Vilarinho dos Freires is one of the oldest parishes in the municipality of Peso da Régua, prior to the foundation of Portuguese nationality. Poiares, on the other hand, was the currency of payment for the spectacle of a joke by the two biggest jewels of the 12th century, Bonamis and his Accompanied brother, the two oldest Portuguese actors. A true journey through time, the region proves that it has had human occupation for millennia, as can be discovered at the Archaeological Station of Alto da Fonte do Milho.

Régua, city, is a commercial center for good wines, from the Douro and Porto, produced right there in the region.
