Description

East Runton is a quaint well served traditional Norfolk fishing village with many amenities. The village has two large commons. Bay Tree cottage is closest to Top Common which is complete with a flock of geese who are resident year round and a play area with swings and slides for children. It is a 5 minute walk from the cottage to the wide sandy beaches of East Runton.
There are two pubs in the village, a butcher and a village store (open long hours) a newsagents and teashop. There is also a greek restaurant "Constantia" in the village and a Fish and Chip shop. East Runton is just a few miles from the traditional seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer, with its victorian pier.
Bay Tree Cottage is close to the Norfolk Coastal path which leads over Ingleburgh Hill (one of the few hills in Norfolk)! and a stones throw from the salt marshes at Cley and Salthouse a bird watchers paradise!. Blakney with its ever popular seal trips is also only a short drive away, kids and adults alike love seeing the seals basking in the sun!
There is lots to do within easy reach , and we have endeavoured to provide a comprehensive pack of tourist information at the cottage. In the meantime here are are just a few of the nearby attractions to wet your appetite:
North Norfolk Steam Railway - starts at Sheringham
Amazonia Zoo - Cromer
BeWILDerwood an award winning wild and imaginative adventure park with magical treehouses and a hint of intriguing characters,
Gressenhall- a former workhouse visitors can see recreations of craftsmans workshops, a bakery, shop and cottage
And many National Trust properties...
